Oil On Canvas Originals To Be Auctioned

Bonhams will be auctioning two oil on canvas originals from contemporary motorsports artist Robert Carter, January 9th at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The title piece for this auction (pictured above) measures 48” x 60” and depicts AMA Flat Track star Jim Rice piloting his BSA to victory at the 1970 Santa Rosa Mile. Carter’s second original celebrates the Catalina Grand Prix of 1950’s fame. The oil on canvas piece is 36” x 60”. In addition to these two originals, some of Carter’s Giclee prints will be available.

Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium eleven times in his twelve visits to Phillip Island across all three GP classes. The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth. Victory Motorcycles is celebrating the Fourth of July, a special date in brand history, and honoring the men and women of the armed forces by making a donation to the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) for every new Victory motorcycle sold between June 30-July 6, 2014. Victory will contribute $50 for each new Victory sold during that period to the IAVA, which is dedicated to empowering and assisting the military veterans who have served in recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. “It’s an honor to celebrate our nation’s birthday by supporting the men and women who protect our freedom,” said Steve Menneto, VP Motorcycles for Polaris.
