Vincent Comet description

I am in the process of trying to cut my collection down to 20 motorcycles, and am currently at 26. (down from 37 in March)  In april, I acquired a 51 Comet with 9200 actual miles on it.  Unfortunately that makes my 1950 model a duplicate.  Planned to take this one to Vegas in January, but thought I would give you a chance on it first.

I restored the bike about 9 years ago, and have put about 15,000 miles on it since then, just getting broken in.   No expense was spared in the restoration, and it still looks almost as good as when it was first built.  I was going to clean it up before taking the pictures, as I rode it on the Vincent Owners Club North American Rally a few weeks ago, and another run before that.  But decided to show it as it looks after about 400 miles since being cleaned.

Everything works as it should, and its ready to ride anywhere.

Before you ask, I can let you know, that the RFM was probably a replacement part, as there is no number on it, and I inspected it carefully prior to powder coating and there was no indication of the part ever having been numbered.  I understand that replacement RFM's were supplied without a number.  The UFM is numbered but is an older part.  The price asked reflects these matters.

It currently sits next to my 9200 mile original, and they look virtually identical, other than the original having a bit of "shelf wear" from being stored various places over the years.

I usually ship through Federal Allied, and deliver to their Agent in Tualatin Oregon.  All shipping to be paid by buyer.

Keep in mind that when the reserve price is met, the buy it now goes away.  Ii point this out because over the years I have sold a couple of bikes for more than my buy it now price.

Any questions, just ask.

The New Age Of Custom Motorcycles – Video

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

In a world where modern motorcycles are full of computers, sensors and plastic, there are still those folks who yearn for the days of yore. A time when motorcycles were made of metal and you used a wrench — not a keyboard — to make your bike go faster. Careful and skilled craftsmanship, along with independent thinking, is a mark of pride among these men and their machines, some of whom are featured in the video below by Gestalten.tv.
