Vincent SS80 Jap description

Brough Superior SS80 Jap

Model year 1924

Vin 181 Engine 23439 Reg TO1531

A superb example of one of the rarier Brough models ever, this was the top model of the brand in the period as SS100 production started only one year later. A very rare find these days, full history know, matching numbers, on the Brough register and still with its original UK reg.

It was supplied new to Heinrichs and Eichorn (Cologne, Germany) on 16th June 1924 and first privat owner was Herr Stinnes.
The motorcycles was returned to the Brough Superior factory the year later when Herr Stinnes decided to purchase one of the new SS100 just presented on the market.
The SS80 was then sold to Mr. Harrison of Lincoln and it was UK registered on 24th June 1925 with reg n. TO1531
Rev.Michael Staines bought the motorcycle in 1956 keeping it untill 1985. Thereafter "181" was owned by a number of people untill Verralls sold it to Mr.Sherwin who sold it through a broker the bike to the present owner in 2014.
"181" left the Factory with Brampton Forks and was fitted with Webb Forks when it returned to England prior the first UK sale. The Castle Forks were fitted at a later stage.

Documentation present: UK V5 reg document, 1962 test certificate, copy of Factory records.

Fantastic opportunity to purchase one of the most desiderable Brough's models. Better than an SS100?

Ride, parade and collect! Bulletproof investment.

Bike is currently located in UK, Stowmarket, Suffolk but i can get them delivered all around the World at cost, no problem. I can supply US reference.

Video: 180bhp N2O injected Vincent

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

The Greek God Epithemeus - the name of this three-wheeled, 180bhp Vincent record breaker - was the brother of Prometheus. Epithemeus (meaning afterthought) was the creator of many dangerous, ill thought-out beasts. Unlike his dilligent brother, Epithemeus was a bit of a f**kwit who threw everything at his powerful new animal creations with little thought of the consequences. A perfect name, then.

The World Endurance Championship Starts This Weekend

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Endurance racing is perhaps the ultimate test of both man and machine. In the past, teams would pace themselves in order to rest both elements enough to make a final push at the end. These days, however, motorcycles are more reliable than ever, and riders train like triathletes.
