Yamaha FZ description
Hello & Welcome! I have the great pleasure to offer my good friends motorcycle up for sale, this is a very low mile bike and will be a great vehicle for the person who buys it. My friend is the second owner and bought it from his friend who became ill and could not ride anymore. My friend just does not ride much so he has asked me to sell it for him. The picture of the miles was taken a few months ago so I have to say it has around 2000 miles on it today, the tires were put on around 200 miles ago and it was recently inspected within the last two years. Starts right up, runs great! has been started and run periodically and so signs of improper storage. 2007 FZ1 is based on the R1 power plant a 998cc inline-four motor, 77mm bore, 53.6mm stroke, 20 valve (five per cylinder) This is a great motorcycle and is a rare find with low miles and its condition **Pictures were taken in the winter time, it was below freezing that day.** ** $500 deposit requires via paypal unless payment in full is made, or other arrangements have been made prior to purchase.*** *Be sure to ask any and all questions you have* **The bike can be delivered for a fee, cost is determined by distance traveled and time taken all shipping inquires must be done prior to purchase** *** Please contact me prior to buying the motorcycle so we can start the arrangements*** Stripped to the essentials, the FZ1 eats up the urban sprawl with its awesome R1-based motor and super-agile chassis. This is a no-nonsense motorcycle that owns the streets, day and night. Our ultimate street brawler brings 998cc of fuel-injected R1 power to the fray, in a light and strong aluminum frame. Sculpted fuel tank and a real-live handlebar move the rider forward for aggressive naked-bike excitement. Adjustable suspension at both ends lets the FZ1 be dialed in for a wide range of uses—everything from track days to urban assault to sport touring. Engine: 998cc DOHC 20-valve R1 engine is tuned for tremendous mid-range punch and massive top-end power. R1-style fuel injection with computer-controlled sub-throttle valves provides precise fuel/air mixture for superb power delivery across the entire rev range. Closed-deck cylinder block provides great strength while allowing a narrow engine in spite of big, 77mm bores. Narrow-angle five-valve combustion chambers produce a highly efficient 11.5:1 compression ratio. Big valves and high-lift cams flow plenty of air. Carburized connecting rods with fractured big ends produce a quick-revving engine with excellent high-rpm durability. High silicon-content ceramic-composite cylinder sleeves ensure great heat dissipation for consistent power delivery and reduced friction. Four-into-one chamberless short-style exhaust contains stainless steel EXUP and three-way catalyst with O2 sensor for outstanding power delivery throughout the rev range and low emissions. Curved high-capacity radiator with twin ring-style fans keeps everything cool under all conditions.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates
Tue, 03 Jan 2012In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.
Yamaha Reports Q2 2013 Sales Results
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Yamaha bounced back from a poor first quarter with sales of 1.530 million motorcycles over the second quarter ended June 30, 2013. The results represent a 1.5% increase from the 1.507 million motorcycles sold in the same quarter last year. Still, Yamaha’s first half motorcycle sales total of 3.0 million units remains behind last year’s tally of 3.1 million units because of the weak first quarter sales.
Scream if you want to go faster
Tue, 10 Aug 2010FANCY AN ex-Carl Fogarty Harris Yamaha YZR500? A rare chance to acquire the machine ridden by King Carl in the 1992 British Grand Prix has come up on eBay. It's a V4 screamer, recently restored by 500cc guru Nigel Everett and features a host of top notch accessories, including Marchesini wheels, 320mm carbon discs and AP six-pot calipers, to name just a few.
