Yamaha Other description

Frame, tank, forks, fenders and wheels for a 1964 Yamaha YDS3 "Catalina" 2-stroke motorcycle.
The bike was dragged out of a barn where it had been for more than 25 years.
The barn and land it came from was being sold and the seller only knew that the bike had been in the barn when they bought the land in the 90's.
The frame is straight, the tank has a slight bend in it behind the right knee pad (6th picture). The rims are straight and so are the forks. There is no upper triple tree.
Perfect start to a restoration.

I can deliver the bike within 100 miles of Sacramento, CA for an additional $100.
I can palletize the bike and have it ready for buyers choice of shipping company.

2014 World Supersport – Phillip Island Results

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

The 2014 World Supersport season opened in dramatic fashion after a red-flagged restart turned the 18-lap race into a five-lap sprint, with MV Agusta making a triumphant return to the top of the podium for the first time since 1976. The Supersport event began with a hard-fought battle between three-time champion Kenan Sofuoglu, Kev Coghlan and Michael van der Mark. Sofuoglu and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R held a slim lead over Coghlan’s Yamaha R6 and van der Mark’s Honda CBR600RR when the race was halted after CIA Insurance Honda rider Jack Kennedy suffered an engine problem and leaked oil onto the track.

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) released the official entry list for the 2014 MotoGP Championship including 23 riders representing 13 teams. The final entry list also lists each rider’s status as either a Open or Factory class rider. The eight Factory riders are allowed to use their teams’ own proprietary ECU software but are otherwise limited by a freeze on engine development, a limit of five engines for the whole season and just 5.3 gallons of fuel per race.

Yamaha Named Official Motorcycle Of Road America

Thu, 02 May 2013

The economic downturn hit the motorcycle world particularly hard, as many factory-backed road racing efforts closed shop. The decision, while unfortunate, isn’t hard to understand, as racing at the highest levels isn’t cheap, and a factory involvement means added pressure to succeed, which ultimately means spending more money to do so. Through it all, however, Yamaha has remained involved with the sport, fielding factory teams and sponsoring various riding schools and even racetracks.
