Yamaha Other description

1970(?) HS-1 90cc twin. As is where is. No title. A project I'll never get to. I have ridden it and it was about like you'd expect from a 90cc. I was gonna make chambers and give it the true cafe treatment but life got in the way. It will need a full rebuild. It has been sitting and I am sure the carbs are gummy. There are two other issues you need to know about: 1) Someone tossed a chain and popped a nice chunk off the LH case right where the shift drum boss is. It weeps oil from there when it's running and the oil is bathing the gearbox. HOWEVER...The wound is above the oil line and it can be used as is if you just want to fart around on it until you get to the repair. Cases are almost always on eBay for $50-$100. 2) Some issue with the charging system. I suspect a ground from a worn wire. Won't charge battery and so it sputters when the battery gets flat (won't fire the coils). Chrome is pitty. Tank looks like it may have been lined. Couple dents. I can send more pics if you want. I'll help load but shipping is buyer's thing. Cash or wells fargo cashiers check on pickup.  919-819-4950

You. Call. That. Lean

Fri, 14 May 2010

Jean Philippe Ruggia, 1988, Coppice at Donington Park, Sonauto-Yamaha 250. This is elbow lean action. There was a previous blog entry of Ben Spies and his elbow grazing the tarmac onboard the M1 Yamaha, I admit it is impressive but I find myself admiring the horizontal angles that Ruggia submitted his 250 Yamaha to, with the above image taken at Coppice as a prime example.

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

Photo: Brian J. Nelson Even though reigning AMA Pro Superbike champ Josh Herrin has left the series to try his hand in the Moto2 series, the Superbike field is still filled deep with talent heading into this weekend’s series opening round at Daytona. Here are just a few names to keep an eye on this weekend.

The Making of Yamaha VMax Hyper Modified by Roland Sands, Marcus Walz and Ludovic Lazareth [Video]

Mon, 28 Nov 2011

Yamaha Motor Europe asked three of the world’s top builders to work their magic on the company’s flagship power cruiser, the VMax. America’s Roland Sands, Germany’s Marcus Walz and Ludovic Lazareth of France each set to work and create three different interpretations on the Yamaha VMax. These “Hyper Modified” custom Yamaha VMax models were unveiled at Yamaha’s stand at the EICMA show earlier this month, and we placed them at #4 on our Top 10 EICMA Show Bikes You May Have Missed list.
