Yamaha sold the GTS in the USA for only two years, but wearing a thirteen grand price tag, they weren't that popular. Shame though, since the bike was way ahead of it's time with a fuel-injected and retuned FZR1000 motor, ABS, and James Parker's wild RADD front end. The forkless front looked odd, but offered significant improvements in stability, turning, and braking over a conventional setup. The Barber museum has one, and even the Guggenheim displays one as part of the epic Art of the Motorcycle exhibit. But that's all for a ho-hum normal GTS. Sporting the rear end from a third-generation VFR, this GTS is truly the only one like it in the world. The rear end was re-engineered by a master machinist/mechanic when the bike was almost new (1995). Since then, the original owner has put tens of thousands of miles on this bike. Rear shock was replaced with a 3-way adjustable Ohlins with a remote reservoir and lowered a few years ago, introducing a faint headshake. All suspension & travel components were gone through and confirmed to be in good shape and well-adjusted. I purchased the bike from the original owner and restored the bike to the stock ride height with custom dog bones made with a former AMA Pro mechanic, restoring the bike's stability. All that's needed is minor tuning at this point, but I have other projects calling my attention. Formerly owned by the proprietor of the San Francisco Bay's largest Big-4 Japanese dealership and maintained by the shop. Has been a garage queen in my care; oil changed annually and fuel stabilized, bike otherwise maintained exclusively on a battery tender. Fri, 31 Jan 2014This brand new, unregistered, never-even-been-fired-up Yamaha RZ500N has been revealed in the warehouse of a motorcycle dealer in Australia. We know it was the RD500LC but over in Australia (and Canada) it was called the RZ500N. It comes exactly as it arrived from Japan, with two keys, the service manual, mirrors etc.

The special edition WGP50th Anniversary Yamaha YZR-M1 livery reaches back into Yamaha’s past for its classic red-and-white colors inspired by its first factory team in 1961. Reigning MotoGP Champion and current points leader Jorge Lorenzo and 2010 MotoGP Rookie of the Year Ben Spies will ride the special edition WGP50th Anniversary livery on their Yamaha YZR-M1 racebikes at the June 25 Assen round and the July 24 U.S.
See Britain's land speed record hopeful at Race Retro 2010
Tue, 09 Mar 2010SEE THE MACHINE that could propel Britain to a new motorcycle land speed world record at The Race Retro 2010 show, held at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry from 12th to 14th March. Almost a year has passed since Visordown broke the news of the planned UK assault on the land speed record - this coming August the Angelic Bulldog team travels to Bonneville, where it is hoping to smash the 400mph barrier and bring the motorcycle Land Speed Record back to the UK for the first time since 1937. The current record stands at 360.913mph over a kilometre.
