Yamaha Raider description

The bike is in like-new condition.  I am the original owner.  The bike has always been stored in a garage and has been meticulously cared for and maintained.  The bike has never been tipped over or struck anything.  I have all the original purchase paperwork and maintenance history.  I just had new Metzeler tires installed front and rear.

The bike includes the following "Yamaha factory" accessories made specifically for the Raider:  boulevard windscreen, saddlebags, quick release passenger backrest, drag exhaust pipes, custom cover and a full service manual.

Per Nadaguides and Kelly Bluebook a stock 2008 Raider S is worth in the high $8000's.  Given the bikes condition and $1600 of factory accessories, I believe the $8600 price is very reasonable.

I am selling the bike in order to buy a boat.

Intermot 2012: Yamaha Unveils Crossplane Triple Concept

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Yamaha announced it is developing a new three-cylinder engine using a crossplane crankshaft inherited from the company’s YZR-M1 MotoGP bike and its YZF-R1 sportbike. Yamaha says the new Triple will play an important role in the company’s future. The Japanese manufacturer unveiled a concept sculpture with the new three-cylinder engine at the 2012 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany.

Rumor Mill: Yamaha To Make R400 and R650

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Yamaha is set to put into production two new sporty bikes — the R400 and R650 —  according to “Young Machine” a Japanese motorcycle magazine. If true, this would fill a huge void in the manufacturer’s beginner sportbike bike lineup. It would make sense, considering the success of Suzuki’s SV650 (which later morphed into the Gladius and is now the SFV650), Kawasaki’s Ninja 650 (ER-6 in other markets), and even Honda’s CBR500R.

Ben Bostrom Events

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Ex-racer Ben Bostrum might have stopped competing on motorcycles, but he hasn't given up his passion for two wheels. He's teamed up with motorsports promoter M1 to create Ben Bostrom Events, a company that plans to host world-class cycling and running races across the US. According to a press release, the high-intensity events will feature an 'entertainment-filled atmosphere', combining many of the familiar elements found at other MOB (mud, obstacles, beer) racing events.
