Yamaha Road Star description

Powered by its massive 102-cubic-inch, air-cooled, 48-degree, V-twin motor with pushrod OHV and four valves per cylinder, the 2009 Yamaha Warrior is one aggressive beast of a bike. This 650-pound machine offers riders the unique experience of owning a comfortable cruiser, combined with the speed, agility, and instant throttle response of a sport bike.

The 2009 Yamaha Warrior has an innovative twin-bore electronic fuel injection system with a throttle position sensor and a 1670cc engine with a 97mm x 113mm bore and stroke and an 8.1:1 compression ratio, making it the closest you can get to a VMAX in a V-twin bike. Using 3-D digital ignition mapping for each cylinder, the Warrior's state-of-the-art electronic control unit (ECU) ensures precisely metered fuel delivery and optimal ignition spark control.

The Yamaha Warrior's exterior is enticingly long and low. A full 93.9 inches long and 44.1 inches high, with a seat height of just 28.1 inches, the Warrior is all about responsive handling. The bike features a class-exclusive aluminum double-cradle frame and swing arm that boosts the bike's rigidity by a full 41 percent, for a dramatic increase in durability and strength. The 65.6-inch wheelbase, along with a huge 200/50-ZR17 rear tire, delivers exceptional cornering results, while the 41mm Kayaba inverted forked front-end suspension and single rear shock cushion your ride beautifully. All of these features add to the overall sport-oriented stability of the bike.

Mythbusters to Compare Emissions of Cars Versus Motorcycles

Wed, 21 Sep 2011

Are motorcycles more environmentally friendly than cars? Ask most people that question and their initial response would probably be “yes” because motorcycles are more fuel efficient, and they release less CO2.  But is that the whole story? MythBusters‘ Jamie Hynerman and Adam Savage are going to find out on the Emmy-nominated show’s fall season premiere, Sept.
