Yamaha Road Star description

Here's a Yamaha Road Star Silverado with a 1.2 Cubic Inch 1670 CC engine and a five gear manual transmission. It has all the standard features but it also has a custom Mustang seat that is most comfortable and floorboards for the driver and passenger. It has just over 14k miles and has been garage-kept. It is sweeeeet! I had a V-Star 1100 for almost 6 yrs and sold it a year ago. This bike is like a big brother to the V-Star. It has the Silverado windshield and studded hard saddle bags. The studded Mustang seat matches the saddle bags and might be the most comfortable seat I have ever sat on. The seat is formed so the back seat acts as a backrest for the driver. If you are looking for a cruiser, this could be the bike for you. It's priced under the book value, so you can save money too!

2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 Video Featuring Ben Spies

Mon, 26 Sep 2011

Yamaha has released a new video of the 2012 YZF-R1 featuring MotoGP racer Ben Spies taking the new bike with Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary limited edition livery to a track day. Spies who won the 2009 World Superbike Championship on a Yamaha R1 so he is obviously very familiar with the sportbike which will now be available with a seven-level traction control system. Spies appears a little bored as the other riders learn the layout of the track and when they get to the track, he calmly waits while they take off around him before dropping the hammer and showing them how it’s done.

EICMA 2013: 2014 Yamaha MT-07 And MT-09 Street Rally

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Yamaha teased us with the “Rise Up Your Darkness” campaign, first introducing the FZ-09 (called the MT-09 in Europe) and its three-cylinder engine packaged in a naked frame. Now Yamaha has introduced the next motorcycle in the Darkness collection, the MT-07, effectively the MT/FZ-09′s little brother. Designed to “bring fun, affordability and enjoyment back to the street,” the MT-07 is powered by a brand new, 689cc parallel-Twin with 270-degree crank incorporating Yamaha’s “crossplane philosophy” of developing linear torque for smoother power application.

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap

Tue, 24 Apr 2012

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
