Yamaha V Max description

2004 Yamaha V Max, ARE YOU MAN ENOUGH - The Mr. Olympia of power cruisers. A 1200cc, liquid-cooled V-4 beast thats won more Best Musclebike awards than it knows what to do with. The truth of the matter is that, for over 19 years now, Mad Max has been wiping the boulevard with pretty much every musclebike-come-lately in terms of pure, unadulterated acceleration. But then, what else would you expect from a machine with high-lift cams and a quartet of massive downdraft carbs stoking its ravenous V-4 powerplant. And thats just for starters - things really get fun once the tachometer sweeps past 6000 rpm and a little thing called V-Boost induction kicks in, force-feeding the engine, via a servo-controlled butterfly valve, huge mouthfuls of unleaded. There is a civilized side to the brute, however, with its vibration-quelling counterbalancer, smooth, hydraulically activated clutch, adjustable front and rear suspension, triple disc brakes, and carbon-fiber-look fenders and gas tank cover . As Motorcyclist magazine so kindly pointed out, nothing before or since turns straight pavement into a party quite like it.

The Japanese oddity to naming teams

Wed, 28 Jul 2010

Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. Now, just days before the start of the 2014 season at the Grand Prix of Qatar, Yamaha has revealed its official 2014 MotoGP livery.

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

Today, Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, has announced its U.S. road racing teams to compete in the 2013 GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Racing season, which kicks off in March at the famed Daytona International Speedway.  Superbike In the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike division, Yamaha is fielding “Team Josh,” as three-time and defending class champion, Josh Hayes once again teams up with Josh Herrin, the 2012 AMA Rookie of the Year. Despite setting single-season records for the most SuperBike wins, the most consecutive SuperBike wins, and the most SuperBike poles, the elder Josh hasn’t lost any of his competitive fire. During the off-season, Josh signed a two-year contract to stay with Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha because he loves the team and he still feels that he’s got a lot of unfinished business to attend to.
