Yamaha Virago description

This is my 1981 Yamaha XV920RH. It is the European version of the Virago. It is not shaft driven, it is chain driven.  I put the Greg Hageman Cafe Kit on it, as well as Vance and Hines Exhaust. New Tuff seat, and  Tires are new front and rear. Rear wheel has a slight wobble at low speeds when you put on the rear brake. Wheel is balanced so It is in the brake drum or shoe itself. It is still safe to ride, and I rode it all summer. It is a fun bike to ride, and gets lots of attention.  Paint is original, and in good shape. Has dings in the tank where the handlebars bumped it. I do have original rear fender and seat if somebody wanted to bring it back to original. However I do not have original handlebars. This is a no reserve auction, starting at 1500.00   Much less than I have invested, but I am ready for a different project.

Snow riding and my new LC

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

I reckon the only thing to do when the snow comes is to get on a bike and my weapon of choice is usually a Yamaha TTR 125. I’ve had TTRs in the garage now for around eight years after Raceways Yamaha in Fleetwood put some on offer for just £900 and apart from a few broken spokes and worn out gearbox sprockets they have been indestructible. One of the two has an electric start and incredibly starts as easily as the day I took delivery.

Best Helmet Designs from the 2009 MotoGP Season

Thu, 22 Oct 2009

Unlike with most athletes, motorcycle racers’ faces remain hidden during competition. Except for promotional events or pre- and post-race interviews, the faces of our racing heroes are shielded under protective helmets with tinted visors. You don’t see the same human emotion in their faces like you can when soccer players score a goal or baseball players hit a home run.

2014 MotoGP Qatar in Pictures

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

The opening round of the 2014 MotoGP season is complete, and if the Grand Prix of Qatar is any indication, it looks like it’ll be an interesting season. If you haven’t yet, read up on the recap for the Qatar MotoGP race for the details on what transpired at Losail International Circuit in Doha. Here then are some of the (mostly spoiler-free) photographs from the Grand Prix of Qatar, including images from the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 classes.
