1979 YZ250 ONE OF A KIND HANDCRAFTED HISTORY
A 79 YZ hand built in the spirit of the early factory racer's. This bike has features not normally seen in a bike of this era. For example a bespoke aluminum fuel tank. The sum of the hours of labor on this bike is lots of details. Please look at the photos closely. The list of one of a kind include: * Aluminum fuel tank with painted script, not a sticker * Aluminum swingarm / chain guide ( Not Oem) * Cone expansion chamber and alloy silencer * Changed rear chassis to accommodate a trick alum. airbox similar to the factory racer's * Modified front brake to dual action with billet lever arms * Stainless steel foot pegs * Chrome Moly brake torque arm * Gear shift lever * Thermo formed number plates * Hammer formed mud guard The list of new parts as follows: * Tires - Dunlop * Seat cover & foam * Fenders * Chain * Levers * Grips * Handle bars Front forks have machined details, with new seals and oil, and look great. As this motorcycle was proudly displayed indoors there has been no fuel in it since restoration. The engine has new gaskets and good compression but will need a new stator coil to run. Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
