Yamaha YZ description

Up for auction is my 2004 Yamaha YZ125. I have completely rebuilt the entire bike from the tires to the handle bars. The motor is completely rebuilt with all new parts internal parts. The cases were reused because they were in great shape. I have about $2800 invested into the project total. The bike was a project when I bought it. I had no intentions of selling it when I started the project but I now have no time to ride the bike anymore(after a long anticipated rebuild). I have put a lot of money and time into the bike making sure that everything was perfect and as it should be. the bike is ready to ride other than the newly blown head gasket(thanks to my brother). i have the head gasket just havent hade time to replace it yet. Other than that, all is good on the bike. It is for sale locally as well so the listing will be removed if the bike sells before the auction ends. thanks for looking and good luck.

Filling a void with an RD350LC

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC.  It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching.  I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration.  Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience.  I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love.  And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor.  The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more.   I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy  next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects  out there so why not have a go yourself?

Our Magnificent seven

Wed, 16 Feb 2011

Remember to dust your Union Jacks down if you happen to be visiting any Grand Prix this year as we have no less than seven youngsters to cheer on in the junior Moto GP classes. I don’t think we’ve ever had this many ‘yoofs’ in the GP paddock so let’s hope they can do the business and bring an end to our long drought of Grand Prix titles. And that could be soon as Scott Redding is already a hot favourite for the 2011 Moto 2 championship on his Marc VDS Suter machine.
