Dream Ride Experience To Benefit Special Olympics, Aug. 16-24

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

For the 13th year running, The Dream Ride Experience will pack 1,900 miles of riding into a week-long adventure. All to raise funds and awareness for the special olympics. Started by Mike Bozzuto, CEO of Bozzuto’s Inc., one of New England’s largest food wholesalers; it grew from his dream to raise funds and awareness of intellectually challenged children and adults and to make a substantial contribution to Special Olympics. The ride turned into an international fund raising effort that now spans three countries and 12 states, all for one cause: to celebrate with Special Olympic athletes and to recognize their achievements and efforts to overcome intellectual challenges.

From Australia and Canada and throughout the Mid-Atlantic States, motorcycle and car enthusiasts will join for a 1,900-mile scenic ride that generates excitement, enjoyment and donations to help Special Olympic athletes who will meet  the riders along the Dream Ride route. Beginning in West Palm Beach, Florida to Farmington, Connecticut, riders and drivers can join in on various legs of the trip or ride the entire 1,900 miles over six days.

While the ride traverses some of the Eastern US’ most renowned riding territories and will be a dream ride, the real joy for the participants will be the joyful faces of the athletes as they meet the riders at each stop. Sharing awe over the beautiful bikes and cars and relishing the recognition that the riders are traveling to see them–to celebrate their achievements, makes this ride a dream come true for the athletes.

Following the ride, which ends on August 22, there will be two days of motorsports shows, rides and entertainment at the destination, August 23-24.

A celebration, open-to-the-public, Kickoff Event on Saturday August 16 at the PGA National Resort & Spa provides entertainment, fun, food and pet adoptions as the riders get ready for their Dream Ride. Special Olympic athletes will be there to cheer their friends on their journey.

All are welcome to attend; donate at www.dreamride.org and follow the ride on Facebook or Twitter. Call 203 250 5112 to register by phone or email ccaramia@bozzutos.com.
