Harley-Davidson shovelhead description

This is not your normal everyday Knucklehead. It has been in the family for 40 years. It has been meticulously maintained and loved. I don't know another Harley, especially 45 years old, that runs like this bike. It is mechanically perfect in every way. This is a southern Harley and has been in SC its entire life. Has never seen snow or rain other than being washed. It has been in storage for several years and when I put gas in it the other day, it fired up immediately. There is nothing like the sound of a shovelhead in my opinion. This is the kind of bike that can be rode from NY to Sturgis without a single worry. It has a custom Ostrich Skin Corbin seat. It is missing the tank cover because I was going to have one made from same skin, but haven't got around to it. A collectors dream. It will be completely detailed prior to it being sold. There are some issues with gas caps pitted slightly and such, but it is 45 years old. Happy Bidding!!!

IT'S 35 YEARS since Evel Knievel attempted to jump 13 London buses at Wembley Stadium. Riding a heavy, slow Harley-Davidson XR750, the American daredevil had serious reservations about the jump, admitting the take-off ramp was too short, therefore limiting the bike's speed. But even though the plucky American knew his chances of pulling off the stunt were slim, he was reluctant to disappoint the 80,000-strong Wembley crowd.

What am I gonna do with a gun rack?

Wed, 27 Jul 2011

Living in Shoreditch I come across a unique variety of motorcycles on the road; from XS650s, to classic Lambrettas and one completely brown jelly-mould CBR600. My favourite of the regular bikes I see is this Harley-Davidson badged Armstrong MT500. In my head I like to think that the owner operates as an urban vigilante, realistically whoever rides this ex-Army bike is probably an artist and instead of a weapon in the gun holder it's probably art equipment.
