Harley-Davidson Softail description

Up for sale is a very low mileage custom softail. This bike only has 4500 miles on it. It took 3 years and $23000 to finish and was finally on the road in 2004. I started with a 2001 Santee 180 frame. It is powered by a 100" RevTek motor and 5 spd transmission. It launches forward with the help of a Primo/Rivera Pro Comp Clutch. It cruises down the road on progressive adjustable suspension and rides like a dream. The rims are Pro 1 billets that are wrapped with Metzler ME880 tires. The front tire is brand new, the rear has about 200 miles on it. The carb was just tuned to this altitude but may need to be rejetted to where you live. There is a brand new interstate battery in it as well. All the fluids were replaced as well as the oil filter. the rear tire is an 18 inch and the front is a 21 inch. it gives it a nice long look but is fun to cruise the windy roads with. It stops with the help of Performance Machine braking. It has a dual caliper set up in the front and a single caliper in the rear. The seat is a LaPera 2 up. The rumble is helped with Vance and Hines big radius exhaust. Fun, strong pulling motorcycle. Title is a clean Utah title. The bike is titled as an H-D (Harley Davidson), not a special construction or rebuilt. Bike was built and maintained by professionals, not shade tree mechanics. The bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell before auction end. If you are local, it is at Addictive Behavior in Salt Lake City, UT and they have banks and credit unions to provide financing. Feel free to call and set up a viewing. Absolutely NO PAYPAL.

New Harley-Davidson Sportster for India to Use 500cc V-Twin

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

When Harley-Davidson first entered the Indian market, The Motor Company decided to import existing models as complete knockdown kits for final assembly in the burgeoning market. Considering the average motorcycle in India has a displacement smaller than 200cc, it was inevitable Harley-Davidson would eventually have to produce a small-displacement model rather than rely on its existing product line which currently lists the 883cc sportsters as its smallest bikes. Despite a denial last May by Harley-Davidson India’s Managing Director Anoop Prakash, it now appears Harley-Davidson is set to announce a new small-displacement model to be produced in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo next February.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
