Up for Sale is a 1961 BMW R27 250cc Motorcycle. Clear Title. 20,014 Miles. Matching Numbers # 375026. The Motorcycle has an older restoration ( 15 years ago). Not perfect, but very nice. It has a new battery, tank flushed, and new fuel line. Starts up, Runs good, No Smoke or leaks, shifts through the gears. All of the Electronics work. Front and rear brakes work as they should. The only thing the bike needs, to be driveable, is the driving plate in the Drive shaft, Previous one dry rotted out. Overall the paint is still very nice. No dents in the tank or fenders. Handlebars do show some pitting. Overall a very nice example of a 1961 BMW R27. . You receive what is pictured. Please see my other vintage motorcycles and parts. BMW Reports 2012 Sales Results
Tue, 19 Mar 2013BMW released its year-end 2012 financial report, reporting revenues of 1.49 billion euros (US$1.93 billion) from its motorcycle business in 2012, up from 1.44 billion euros in 2011. The increased revenues came in a record year for BMW with the company selling an all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles in 2012. Despite the increase in sales revenue, BMW reported a much smaller profit from its motorcycle business, earning 9 million euros (US$11.6 million) in 2012, compared to 45 million euros in 2011.
Naked BMW S1000RR Spotted Testing in Italy – Video
Wed, 29 May 2013Italian site Motociclismo.it has published a video of what appears to be a naked version of the BMW S1000RR being tested on public roads in Rovereto, Italy. The test model was dressed in camouflage and appears to be close to being ready for production, especially compared to the earlier prototype spotted testing last summer. We expect BMW will officially unveil this S1000RR-based streetfighter at either the Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, or the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, later this fall.
BMW Concept Ninety Marks Motorrad’s 90th Anniversary and 40 Years of BMW R90S
Fri, 24 May 2013BMW revealed a new concept to mark the company’s 90th year in the motorcycle business while also paying tribute to a classic: the BMW R90S. (UPDATED with video.) The product of a collaboration between the BMW Motorrad Design studio and Roland Sands Designs, the BMW Concept Ninety will be displayed alongside other classic BMW motorcycles at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, May 24-26 in Italy. The Concept Ninety carries many styling cues from the R90S, BMW’s classic superbike.
