BMW R-Series description

Built by Second Wind BMW Triumph owner, and 30 year BMW Master Tech, Darrell Faulkenberry

Custom BMW R100 Street Tracker. This airhead was completely stripped down to every single nut and bolt as always. Frame powder coated in BMW blue. This is number 15 of Darrell's BMW Airhead motorcycles. Total rebuild of the engine, transmission, forks, rear drive... on and on... The concept was to use a later model R100R platform because of the high performance forks, dual disc Brembo front brakes and large displacement motor with airhead reliability and character. Custom tracker seat and structure, modified frame, Ohlins shock, Brembo brakes, Custom hand-made exhaust, cross spoked tubeless strong wheels, totally new and rebuilt in every way and hilarious to ride!

A little history of this bike:
This 1993 R100R original bike was sold by the shop when it was new, then was sold by the original owner to someone local in NH. Darrell recognized the bike and bought it from the second owner to build the custom tracker. The bike has 330 miles since the rebuild and winning buyer receives the first service done by Darrell before it's picked up.

More details:

The bike has many custom treatments, a few notable points are the rear frame which was shortened, the seat structure, and exhaust were custom built - this bike has a deep sound but not too loud, everyone that's heard it says it sounds amazing and perfect for the bike. There are LED rear turn indicators inside the ends of the rear frame, there is a hidden ignition toggle under the tank that's reachable when you know where it is, no key, by design. The memory foam handmade seat is very comfortable and supportive and with the wide handlebars this bike can be ridden all day. Heidenau K60 Scout tires provide the right look on the motorcycle and are dirt road brawl ready while being a great handling road tire. All hardware is stainless steel (this is consistent with Darrell's stainless steel habit)

If you're looking for a professionally built (not happy hands at home) custom BMW Airhead, this 1,000cc Street Tracker may be for you.

Located at the shop, Second Wind BMW Triumph in Merrimack NH - the bike can be seen in person if you're local.

2013 BMW F700GS and F800GS Announced

Tue, 03 Jul 2012

BMW has updated its F800GS and introduced the F700GS which replaces the F650GS for the German manufacturer’s 2013 lineup. The 2013 BMW F800GS slots in under the R1200GS as the company’s mid-displacement adventure tourer while the F700GS is an entry-level model to the segment. Despite the nomenclature, both models are equipped with liquid-cooled and fuel-injected four-valve 798cc twin-cylinder engines, just like the 650.

Dubbed the BMW HP2 Roadster by Italian site Insella.it which published the grainy photograph, the new boxer-engined streetbike is expected to be officially unveiled at November’s EICMA show in Milan. The spy photo reveals the HP2 Roadster uses BMW’s air-cooled R-series boxer engine and not the new water-cooled engine introduced on the 2013 R1200GS.
