1981 Honda CB 900 (1981)
1981 Honda CB 900 I bought 2 years ago in original condition, I changed the oil and put about 2000 miles on it I tried to restore it and in the process of sanding the tank I put a pin hole that you can't see with the naked eye but leaked gas after a few hundred miles. The leaking caused the paint to flake off the tank, so the gas tank needs to be sealed and repainted. It was starting to get colder when this happened so its been stored since. It also needs a new battery. It ran great before it was stored for winter. Will need very little work before it is street ready. 1981 Honda CB900 Custom NO RESERVE (See video) (1981)
This bike ran pretty well 2 years ago before it was put away for the winter. A couple weeks ago I pulled it out of the mothballs, started it up and found it was running on 3 cylinders. I took the carbs off, cleaned them, and ran a bottle of B-12 carb cleaner through the gas. It is now running on all 4 cylinders, but backfires on deceleration. It has brand new tires with less than 10 miles on them, has new headlight ears, new headlight, new battery and both cam timing chains have recently been changed along with new rings and valve adjustment. It comes with 2 Vetter hard bags that are in decent shape, along with mounting hardware. CARB Certifies 2015 Honda NC700X – Still No 750 Engine in Sight
Tue, 07 Oct 2014American consumers hoping Honda would replace its NC700X with the larger-displacement NC750X will be disappointed to know they might have to wait until the 2016 model year to get the 75cc engine upgrade. The California Air Resources Board has granted an executive for the 2015 Honda NC700X, certifying the motorcycle for sale in the state with the same 670cc engine displacement it had since being introduced in the 2012 model year. Now, this doesn’t mean Honda won’t decide to certify the 745cc engine after all; manufacturers resubmit and recertify models all the time, often replacing models are adding additional model using the same engine.
