Honda CL description

Up for sale is a 1969 Honda CL350 cafe racer. This is a great bike, I rescued it from a neighbor who was moving and thinking of parting it out. He started with a good running CL350 last summer and tore it down. All seals and bearings were replaced. The tires were replaced with new Avons. The motor was gone through and rebuilt and bored .020" over with new pistons. New gaskets throughout. It has an Acadia Vintage Motorcycles electronic ignition and a Ricks stators high output stator. New Mikuni VM30 carburetors. New clutch. The bike shifts smoothly through all the gears. The bike runs VERY strong and has excellent compression in both cylinders. It's a dream to ride, it handles very well and is much faster than you would expect a 350 to be. I get thumbs up wherever I go and it gets tons more attention than my Ducati.
The bad- the previous owner was not particular about cosmetics. There are numerous scratches all over the bike. The frame looks great in pictures, but it looks like it was painted with a spray can. (It was ). In spots, the engine looks like it was painted with a brush. The PO also installed the wrong kick start lever, which stripped the shaft coming out of the case. I have all of the parts required to fix it, but it would require an engine tear down and I didn't want to do that because it runs so well. He also removed the starter but I have all the removed parts to reinstall it. In short, the bike in its present state needs to be bump started, which isn't a big deal because it starts so easily, but obviously could be a problem if you kill it in traffic.
That said, everything else on the bike works except the brake light. I haven't had time to troubleshoot it but I'm pretty sure it's a simple fix. The headlight is an updated 55w halogen unit and is much brighter than the original. The turn signals and switches all work fine.
The previous owner put about 1000 miles on it since it was completed; I have ridden it about 500 or so. I got the carbs about 90% dialed in- I didn't go any further because I knew I would be selling it and I live near Denver at 5200 feet. If you are the buyer and live in a lower lying area, the bike will need to be rejetted. It runs just a little rich right now and has a flat spot around 5000 rpm.
This is a great bike to ride as is, or take apart and make it perfect. I would keep it but I have too many bikes already.
I cannot ship but I will assist with shipping any way I can. $500 deposit due via PayPal with balance due within 5 days via cash or certified funds. I can hold it for up to 45 days if you want to pick up in person. I'm pretty flexible.
Thanks for looking. Any questions, feel free to ask.

2014 Honda CTX700 Recalled in Canada for ABS Issue

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

Transport Canada announced a recall for the new Honda CTX700 because of a manufacturing error in its anti-lock braking system. The Canadian recall applies to both the CTX700N and the partially-faired CTX700T (known simply as the Honda CTX700 in the U.S. market and other markets.) According to the recall notice, the ABS modulator may have been manufactured incorrectly and could potentially fail, allowing the front and/or rear wheels to lock up under heavy braking, increasing the risk of a crash.

Rossi Makes Progress but Hayden Suffers Shoulder Setback

Ducati continues to develop its Desmosedici GP12 MotoGP race bike, setting modest goals while trying to establish a good setup. Already trailing the other factory teams in development time for its race prototypes, Ducati continued to try to find good base settings for the GP12. Valentino Rossi achieved the team’s goal of lapping under two minutes and two seconds with a time of 2:01.886 while completing 44 laps on the second day of testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit.
