Here is a fine 1984 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk with 15,819 miles. I have loved this bike since 2008 when I acquired it as the second owner. I have spent time, care and energy making sure that it is the best looking and best-running motorcycle it can be. Regrettably, I have three other motorcycles and don't do much longer highway riding and will stick with my smaller cc bikes. I do want someone to enjoy this great Honda machine. Take a good look at the auction pictures. Of course, this is the actual motorcycle you are bidding on. The highlights: Clear title, ready to ride operating condition and many, many positives.
I am a veteran eBayer and 40 year motorcyclist with a 100% rating over many transactions and also list with photos the very few negatives in the spirit of full disclosure. I'm confident you can't find a nicer bike for this money. With plenty of riding season left, you'll be a happy bidder, buyer and biker. This is a big motorcycle (434 lbs dry) with a 650cc four cylinder Honda engine and 63 HP with power to spare. I do not recommend it to a brand new rider/beginner unless they have had some experience on motorcycles and a certified MSF motorcycle safety course, or about to enroll in one. On the other hand, I will not limit or restrict the sale. I just want everyone to be safe out there! Remember the old saying, "Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down." Positives + new seat, flawless work done by a local upholsterer in Milwaukee, Homestyle Custom Upholstery in Bay View WI. + body integrity grades as an A, no rattles or squeaks + flawless paint, all tones (tank, rear panel, side panels, all match with no fading) + shaft drive, always maintained and fluid changed + exhaust pipes Honda OEM, dual, no rust on headers + rear tire new a season ago, few miles in between + smooth powerband and throttle response; no hesitations + original mirrors, no cracks or fading + square headlight and square mirrors represent '80's styling + instruments (tachometer, speedometer, trip odometer, warning lights for turn signals, oil pressure, taillight and high beam all operative) + front turn stalks firm and straight. If you know Nighthawks, you'll appreciate this! + new oil and filter done 2 weeks ago, conventional 10w-40 + stored in 10x10 shed during winters and when not riding (no dents from cars!) + very seldom ridden in the rain (usually only when I was out riding and didn't pay attention to the forecast!) + thorough winter storage routine: on center stand off tires, removed battery and charged, covered in shed, new oil and filter, carburetors drained, gas StaBil, filled to top. No corrosion in tank. + battery 2 years old, but tended and removed to home over winter + clear Wisconsin title in my name. No liens or holds on motorcycle title. + charging system fine. If you know Nighthawks, sustained runs over 3,000 rpm are important to keep the battery charged. Puttering at low rpm runs the battery down. + 1 OEM logo Honda key and a copy provided. + fork lock fully functional + no oil or fluids drip. Fork oil and seals AOK, no weeping (see photos) + shown at the 2011 and 2014 Rockerbox Vintage Motorcycle Shows here in Wisconsin: Why do I mention this? It is a very clean and attractive bike + center stand and side stand fine. Side stand rubber shoe is not worn and is of proper length and depth Negatives - some minor weakness at gasket on cylinder head (see picture) No loss of oil, never was a concern to me, but I do mention it (see photos) - some rust at the lower exhaust collector; really amounts to loss of chrome finish (see picture) - some rear turn signal stalk droop (see picture) - small scrape on side panel (see picture) - again, if you know Nighthawks, the bike is fueled by four carburetors and on cold mornings (under 60 degrees), it can be finicky to start. You gain experience with the choke (manual) and how to use it. An experienced rider of '80's motorcycles will understand, but it does take some experience. No kick start, only electric. This model did not come with a kick starter. - no tool kit (to be honest...the OEM Honda tools in the little gray bag were mostly well made toys. I always used quality wrenches, sockets, etc for adjustments, etc. You may make an offer beginning at $1,200. I will entertain all offers up to the "Buy it Now" and at the end of the 7 day listing will accept the offer closest to $1,600. The "Buy it Now" is at $1,600, just in case you want to bypass all the drama/tension and make the bike yours. You'll be very happy with your motorcycle. Hero MotoCorp Launches 125cc Ignitor in India
Tue, 03 Jul 2012Hero MotoCorp has launched the Ignitor, a 125cc premium model based on the CBF Stunner from former partner turned rival Honda. The Ignitor is one of the final models Hero will produce with technology licensed from Honda, and it is expected to bridge the gap before Hero introduces its own new models (with help from a gentleman named Erik Buell.) Like the Stunner, the Hero Ignitor is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine. Both models claim 11hp and 8 ft-lb., but the Ignitor reaches its peak torque at 5000 rpm while the Stunner has to spin up to 6500 rpm.
Results From Day 2 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island
Tue, 18 Feb 2014World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.
2014 WSBK – Assen Results
Mon, 28 Apr 2014Heavy rains and a fortuitous red flag were the difference in the World Superbike Championship‘s visit to The Cathedral of motorcycle racing, the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli captured his second win of the season in Race 1, which was halted early by a red flag with five laps to go just as it looked like reigning WSBK champion Tom Sykes was gearing up for a final challenge. The second race was also shortened, not by a red flag but because of a rain, turning the 21-lap race into a 10-lap sprint.
