Triumph Bonneville description

This auction is for a 1967 Triumph 650 Bonneville T120R.  The Bike has matching numbers frame and engine.  The bike has been in storage for the last 2 years and will need the gas drained, carbs cleaned and more than likely new points ect.  It has good compression on both cylinders and will start up and idle but is has an intermittent "miss" on the right cylinder.  The bike is being sold as is, I do not ride on the street anymore and it needs a new home.  As you can see from the pictures this is not a 100% stock bike (Seat cover color, paint, fenders are painted, new wire harness) but was built the way I wanted it to look.

The frame and components are powder coated and hardware was re-cad plated.  The paint is approx 10 years old and was painted with Base Coat/ Clear Coat.  The Tach was rebuilt 2 years ago.  The pipes and reverse cone mufflers are in good shape.  The wiring harness was completely gone through.  It has a lithium aftermarket battery in it.  The inside of the gas tank is free of rust.  The seat cover was replaced not that long ago.  I never touched the motor besides cleaning and changing the clutch  and countershaft sprocket.  The carbs were changed from the Monoblocs to Concentric.

Know issues:  The front brake cable needs to be replaced and forks need to be serviced.  The chrome on the wheel rims are in pretty poor shape but are functional.  This bike has been sitting for a couple of years so it will need all the fluids drain, carbs cleaned and ignition checked.  The paint on the oil tank and side covers has some issues(dent and paint prep see pictures) and the bike has various paint dings but is in overall good shape.

Shipping:  It is the buyers responsibility to inspect the bike and arrange all shipping.  I can help with loading the bike. I would not recommend planning on riding the bike home, it will need to be trailered or shipped.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump. Enigma Variations

Wed, 14 Mar 2012

Remember the Enigma Triumph being built by a collective of British engineeers and specialists? Just been dropped a note by the bike's owner - know on these parts as JimLin. Inexplicaby, for a journalist's 'project', things still appear to be moving ahead at a healthy velocity.
