Triumph Tiger description

1958 TRIUMPH TIGER CUB COMPETITION
 Very Nice

This is a very nice example of the famous Triumph Cub. It is a smaller version of the 500cc Tiger with a single cylinder 200cc engine and 4 speed transmission. This particular version is the desirable T20C or "Competition" model.

This motorcycle has had a complete engine rebuild by BBC in Ventura, CA. It has new tires, levers and brake/clutch cables. It runs beautifully and has low (probably less than 500) miles on the rebuild. It doesn't smoke or leak. It has been converted to a 12v system and has a small gel battery hidden under the seat.

Cosmetically, the bike is excellent. It is not perfect, but shows very well. All the paint including the frame is nice and shiny with no orange peel. There are a few very small areas of touchup. The chrome is extremely nice except for a couple of small areas on the rear rim where the chrome is chipped, and some very slight freckling on the headlight rim. Most of the fasteners are either new, re cad plated or re-chromed. The seat upholstery is original and has no tears. The hand grips appear to be original and could be replaced as they are starting to crack. One fork boot has a tear in it. The tank knee grips are brand new, as is the original chrome Ceandess "domed" gas cap.

There is a very reasonable reserve on this auction. It is sold on a bill of sale. A title can be obtained, post auction and AFTER FULL PAYMENT is made-please inquire. This motorcycle is not advertised elsewhere, and this auction is the exclusive opportunity to purchase it. This is a great opportunity to obtain a very desirable classic TRIUMPH. These little rarities are RAPIDLY appreciating and NOW is the time to buy!

Please ask any and all questions and read the terms below before bidding. Also read and understand the payments terms detailed herein.

Recall for 2011 Triumph Tiger 800, 800XC Accessory Center Stands

Mon, 29 Aug 2011

Triumph is recalling accessory center stands for the 2011 Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC because of a defective return spring. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the return springs on the  accessory center stand for the Triumph Tiger 800 and 800XC may not always return to its original length, potentially leading to a loose center stand and a fracture in the spring wire. Riders may detect a rattling sound from the loose stand and in the case of a fractured spring, a scraping sound caused by the center stand dragging along the road.

Motorcycle Freestyle Rider Ernie Vigil Puts Triumph’s Scrambler Through The Wringer [Video]

Wed, 21 Mar 2012

With its on/off-road tires, spoke wheels, high rise dual exhaust, protective fork gators and flat one-piece seat and handlebar, Triumph’s Scrambler evokes notions of a McQueen-esque go anywhere, do anything machine in a modern motorcycle. It’s probably safe to assume few Scrambler owners today put their retrofied rides to the test, seeing just how much abuse the 865cc parallel-Twin-powered Scrambler can take. However, in this Triumph North America video, freestyle rider Ernie Vigil (the video’s editor and co-creator) does what most Scrambler owners wish they were capable of with their new/old Trumpet.
