Yamaha Other description

I have a clean yamaha 1979 SR500F
The bike was to be a manix cafe racer project but when I picked it up you know how the story goes. It's way to nice to strip and mod out. So here it is. The only flaws are the fork tubes are pitting at the triple clamp area and the high beam knob is gone. It still functions as it should but the rocker switch is gone. It only has 13k miles on it but will ga up because I can't stay off of it.
I have looked for one of these for 20years and finely found a good one. The stator was bad so I sent it to REXs Speed shop in the UK to have the low side of the stator rewound. I also installed his CDI box (have original).
It has a 34mm mikuni carb with a super trapp exhaust.
While waiting on the stator to come home I serviced the bike to ride. Rebuilt front and rear calipers, new tires, valve adjusted,  serviced chain, serviced fuel system. Fuel tank has NO rust.
I really don't want to sell it but I'm wanting to build a cafe bike. I also have a really nice TT 500 all set up for flat tracking. I built it 1994 and restored/updated it in 2013. If you have any interest in that it will be on VFT this week.
Don't think I will be giving this bike away as I really enjoy ridding it.
Call, txt or email any questions 317-498-0241 send me a txt and I can send a video.
Buyer responsible for all shipping and handling but I will assist if needed.
Bike is for sale locally so may end auction early.
Thanks for looking and happy ebaying!

Yamaha Applies for R3 Trademark in US

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

Last week, we broke the news that Yamaha had filed a trademark application for the European Union for the use of “YZF-R3” and “R3“. We can now confirm that Yamaha has filed a similar trademark application for “R3″ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a strong indication that Yamaha intends to offer the motorcycle in the U.S. Visit the Yamaha R3 Forum The USPTO filing (registration #86160385)  is dated Jan.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates

Tue, 03 Jan 2012

In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.

The Emperor’s New Clothes — Josh Hayes’ Style for 2013

Three-time and defending AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Champion, Josh Hayes (above right), and 2012 AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Rookie of the Year, Josh Herrin, are ready to debut new livery on their Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha YZF-R1 next week in Daytona. Joining them are 2012 AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike race winner, Cameron Beaubier, and 2012 AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport race winner, Garrett Gerloff, on their Yamaha Extended Service/Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha Daytona SportBike YZF-R6s. The four riders and their machines recently completed a photo session at Yamaha’s U.S.
