Yamaha XS description

Up for sale is a very nice condition XS400.   All around this bike is in excellent shape. It has had some work done to it to bring it to street ready condition.  Less than 12,000 miles make it a real find.  Everything functions as it's supposed to. Tires are used with no dry rot and plenty of life left.  Brakes are fine with great pressure. Comes with a New Battery installed. All fluids are new.  A minor ding or dent here and there but nothing major and no surprises.  Gastank is clean inside and carburetor was just rebuilt and balanced as well.
Bike comes with a Bill of sale.  (See 'Paperwork" below)

Shipping-     I do not offer shipping but will work with your shipper of choice to arrange pickup.  "Uship " is a great shipping service. I can hold the bike in secured storage until shipping arrangements are made.   If you are in located in the New England area I would consider delivery for a small fee to cover expenses.  Email me with your location for a quote.

Paperwork-    Connecticut DMV does not issue titles for any vehicles over 20 years old. Connecticut considers any vehicle over 20 years old an antique.   What this means for you as a prospective buyer located in another state is simple.  Your DMV must accept the signed  standard CT Q1 form bill of sale from me that I will supply with the vehicle. All DMV`s in the U.S have a master book that states in detail all the laws from other states.   Any interstate vehicle sale may be subject to a VIN verification from a state approved business or DMV location.  Any questions regarding this can be answered by your local DMV in person or online.   Any questions please ask.

Payments-    Deposit through Paypal required within 48 hours after auctions close.  Full Payment required within 7 days of sale.   I can accept payment in full through Paypal if desired for an additional 3% of sale price to cover Paypal fees.  Cash, cashiers check or Postal Money orders also acceptable.

Yamaha Pro Am madness, the best one make championship ever?

Sat, 18 Dec 2010

I’m biased of course, but the best one make road race championship has to be the Yamaha RD 350LC Pro Am series. Back in the days when manufacturers had spare cash (1980 to be precise), Mitsui Yamaha organised this televised championship at major British race meetings to promote the recently launched, and now iconic, Yamaha RD350LC. Twenty four riders (twelve established and twelve rookies) were chosen by a panel of experts then given a completely free season of racing with a very generous prize fund thrown in.

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Yamaha announced plans to release the production versions of its PES1 and PED1 concept models within two years as part of the company’s plans to enter the electric motorcycle segment. The PES1 and PED1 (which stands for “Passion, Electric, Street” and “Passion, Electric, Dirt”) concepts were first revealed at last November’s Tokyo Motor Show. In the company’s newly-published annual report, Yamaha confirmed plans to produce the two models, saying: “In sports motorcycles, we are working to create new value with EV sports motorcycles, which we aim to launch in two years, with the development of the small, on-road sports PES1, as well as the PED1, which are being developed to expand the scope of electric vehicles to the off-road world.
