Yamaha XS tech info
Yamaha XS description
Your looking at a 1979 Yamaha XS1100 SPECIAL 1229cc Turbo.
I am the owner of this cycle (34years), this has been well kept and maintained in a A/C garaged, and this cycle has never had a accident and no scratches or dents. This Mr.Turbo kit runs great on premium 93 octane pump gas. This turbo cycle street driven set at 10 lbs. boost makes 160 HP when driven high RPMS (turbo cycle never raced). This has been my toy. This cycle needs someone who wants to enjoy and ride a real Turbo Cycle street driven.
The Mr. Turbo Kit was installed on a new engine in the early 80's
This engine on this cycle was completely built to 1229cc with turbo pistons & rings, connecting rods, main bearings, etc., Head ported and stainless valves (over sized), with heavy duty valve springs.
The transmission gears were undercut when the engine was built. This cycle shifts perfect. ( never miss a gear )
There is a oil cooler installed on the front of the engine
The Rajay 400 turbo was completely rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago.(ATC Aircraft Approved Turbo Components Co.)
This cycle has a water injection system that works great on the Mr. Turbo system.
I upgraded the carburetor to a Mikuni flat slide 45mm.
The bike has new rear tire Dunlap 501-J, Front tire Dunlop 501-J 80% left, new battery, brakes, and calipers rebuilt.
The clutch and steel plates are new with heavy duty clutch springs (July 2013)
The Fuel tank has a 4.0 gallons oversize standard tank (no rust in the tank) Remember this cycle has been in a A/C garage it's hole life except when driven.
The bike has a new fairing and windscreen, ( Laminar faring with Tinted Windshield ) plus the rear fiberglass luggage box w/lights, detachable when you want to detach the luggage box (no excessive brackets needed for installation or removable of the luggage box)
The cycle was painted Corvette 83U Atomic Orange Metallic,Copper, flip color with the sun) Painted two yrs ago (note no chrome fenders painted to match cycle paint work). No scratches, chips, or dents perfect paint work
All the work above and receipts for this cycle above are available for the buyer wants to buy this cycle.
***** I also have the original 1100 cc engine and a spare new 1229cc turbo engine completely built to match the engine that's now on the cycle. ( I did not build the second motorcycle many yrs. ago)
***** THESE TWO ENGINES DO NOT GO WITH THE ABOVE MOTORCYCLE SALE***** THESE TWO ENGINES WOULD BE A SEPERATE PURCHASE.
If needed you can contact me Bill 954-435-7964 for any question on this cycle for sale, Eastern Standard Time 9A.M. 5 P.M.
I RESERVE THE RITE TO CANCELL THIS YAMAHA TURBO XS 1100 AT ANY TIME OF THIS SALE..

Day 5 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins Stage, Moves Into Overall Lead
Thu, 09 Jan 2014Red Bull KTM factory rider and three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma won stage five today followed by his teammate Jordi Viladoms and KTM supported rider Kuba Przygonski allowing KTM to scoop the top three places. Today´s stage five from Chilecito to Tucuman was characterized by hot temperatures, lots of sand and navigation in dry vegetation. Organizers decided to cancel the second part of the special for safety reasons and also because heavy thunderstorms threatened the area.
Yamaha R1 rider lowsides on left-hander
Tue, 23 Mar 2010THIS GUY'S lucky he doesn't get flicked over the top, after losing the back end of his Yamaha YZF-R1 on a twisty section of mountain road. He looks pretty miffed at the result; we think he got away lightly. It could have been soooo much worse if the rear tyre had gripped and lobbed the rider over the top.
