Yamaha YZ description

2005 YAMAHA YZ85, Great fun for not a lot of money. This older YZ85 looks and runs good for an 8 year old 2 stroker.Play For KeepsWelcome to the jungle. It's not easy making the transition to adulthood, but at least things can be crystal clear in one area of life. When you ask the YZ85's reed-valve-inducted six-speed engine for power, you learn very quickly the difference between it and whatever you rode before. This liquid-cooled six-speed screamer inhales through a 28mm Keihin PWK flat-slide carburetor and the heavy-duty clutch produces hard launches and positive shifts. And when you begin exploring the capabilities of its adjustable, long-travel suspension, you'll start to comprehend how your Supercross heroes pull off those poster moves. The inverted Kayaba fork dishes out 10.8 travel and you've got 11.3 out back. This is the real YZ deal, and if you're lucky it might teach you that the best things in life don't come easy. Excellence requires dedication, many hours, and a few thousand other intangibles. If you're ready to go there, we're ready with the 85 that can take you to the front of the pack, whether the game is motocross or life.

Yamaha’s Spies, Crutchlow, And Hayes To Sign Autographs At Progressive International Motorcycle Show In Long Beach

Wed, 07 Dec 2011

If you live in the southern California area and are attending the Progressive International Motorcycle Show at the Long Beach Convention Center this weekend, Dec. 9-11, do everything you can to make it Friday before 5:30 as three of Yamaha’s best and brightest stars will be on hand to meet and greet fans, as well as pose for pictures. Yamaha MotoGP rider and former Yamaha World Superbike Champion Ben Spies, Monster Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP rider and former Yamaha World Supersport Champion Cal Crutchlow, and Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha rider and two-time defending AMA Pro Racing American SuperBike Champion Josh Hayes will all be signing autographs and greeting fans at the Yamaha display.

Anti clockwise Knockhill and riding in the North East with GP winners.

Wed, 06 Jun 2012

I was both nervous and excited for my first ever reverse direction track day last week at Knockhill. From rushing downhill into the left hand off camber hairpin to sweeping up onto the start/finish, nothing bears any resemblance to riding round clockwise. I actually raced my 350LC in the opposite direction in 1982 but it still took a few laps to get my head round what essentially is a brand new track for Scotland.

Rumor: Yamaha Developing Inline Three Roadster

Wed, 25 Jan 2012

French motorcycle outlet Moto Revue reports Yamaha is developing a new three-cylinder middleweight. Citing an internal Yamaha document, Moto Revue reports the new naked model will feature an inline Triple engine, aluminum perimeter frame, upside-down fork and a triple-pipe exhaust like the MV Agusta F3 and Brutale 675. Yamaha has produced a Triple before, offering the XS750 from 1976-1979 before replacing it with the XS850 in 1980 and 1981 (pictured above is the 1981 Yamaha XS850.) The potential new model is still likely to be years away, so its look is yet to be determined, though Moto Revue does have a rendering that borrows some of the design elements from the FZ8.
